American, half Scottish and half German-Dutch, almost fled I would say from Indiana to live art without hearing (as he used to say) the scent of fast food, Ken Scott is Milanese by adoption!
Famous for his colorful and floral fabrics, very optical, always and in any case, not only flooded our Milan with clothes and accessories that tasted of vegetables and exotic fruits, but also had the courage to animate a doc restaurant always in via Corridoni, base fixed of his atelier! Visionary and eclectic furnishings, French cuisine but also tex-mex, every act for Ken Scott was an artistic expression from the kitchen to the tailoring!
Let's remember it with colored tour of Milan:
Ultrachic dresses our everyday in bold colors and makes the evening dress a true palette of shades;
Donatella Pellini's jewels have made color their distinctive signature;
Otherwise he manages to color each menu with daring mix of taste and glance;
Mario Luca Giusti furnishes the table with colorful plates and glasses;
Zaini even colors pink chocolate!
Let the color be with us!
Newly open at number 18 of Meravigli street, Ultrachic cheers us up with a touch of glam and a perfect vision of the fashion world!
I prefer the original branch in Via Moriggi (which now houses their classic-collection), the workshop where it all began, but even in Corso Magenta or Via Manzoni you can still find a bracelet or a charm that you will want to keep as one of your prized possessions or give as a gift to someone special who can appreciate the workmanship, originality and unmistakeable hallmark of Mrs. Pellini, who still has fun imagining you all dressed up in one of her creations at a party or a family gathering.
It’s advisable to make an appointment!
Altrimenti was created in February of 2019 as an offshoot of the former Michelin starred Essenza restaurant. Altrimenti endeavours to continually pursue the best, both in terms of raw ingredients and a degustation proposal. They aim to be refined, but not obsessively so. Altrimenti is a place that nurtures our desire for a safety buffer during culinary adventures, without having to succumb to a commonplace experience. The wine list is eclectic, the menu is both fun and fabulous, and the decor is minimalist — just the way we like it. There is also a room kept for reservations to special and unforgettable dinners. The front of house reception is prompt, attentive, witty and theatrical!
Via Monte Bianco no.2/A
Mario Luca Giusti
Florentine training and Milanese open-mindedness: there is such a thing as total perfection here on Earth!
Mario Luca Giusti dresses dining-tables, but not only, with plastic objects that look like glass, in a range of bright yet comfortingly warm colours; how amazing is that!
In the old Headquarters of “Zaini, chocolate for all ages”, the shop that we were all waiting for opened up just a few months ago: a retro-style atmosphere, chocolates that are in keeping with modern times and unhurried, laid-back customer service!
I wouldn’t mind moving to No. 5, De Cristoforis.
